Bernard Jin

Faculty - DMD

Dr. Bernard Jin obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia. He received subsequent training in the General Practice Residency Program (an extensive multidisciplinary program) at Vancouver Hospital, BC Children’s Hospital, and UBC Specialty Clinic where he developed a passion for periodontics and oral surgery. Dr. Jin was presented with the Dr. S. Ioanidis Award for Excellence during his internship.

In full-time practice, Dr. Jin provides treatments with emphasis on implant dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, and advanced osseous and soft tissue grafting. He is an active member and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Since joining BITES Dental Training Institute in 2008 as faculty instructor, Dr. Jin currently holds the office of Co-Chair at BITES Institute.  He enjoys teaching advanced implant placement and tissue grafting techniques to fellow dentists. 

Dr. Jin has lectured and taught nationally at various study clubs and venues including the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Pacific Dental Conference Live Surgery Stage.

Dr. Jin has completed multiple extensive programs throughout North America in the areas of dental implantology, periodontal surgery, dental sedation, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontics.  Dr. Jin received his Intravenous Sedation Training from both the UBC/VGH GP residency program and the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry and the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry.  He is registered with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC to provide moderate sedation.

He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, Association of Dental Surgeons of BC, College of Dental Surgeons of BC, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Christian Medical & Dental Society.

Dr. Jin has volunteered much of his time and services at the Downtown Vancouver Eastside Walk-In Dental Clinic and at the Douglas College Community Clinic.  Dr. Jin also works with the Tri-City volunteer community dental clinic (an outreach ministry of the Hope for Freedom Society) to provide emergent surgical treatments to individuals who are in desperate need of dental care.

Dr. Jin is a commissioned officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and also holds two bachelor degrees:  Bachelor of Science (Embryology and Cytology) and Bachelor of Education. In addition to spending time with his wife and two children, Dr. Jin enjoys photography, ballroom dancing, watching movies, and cruising on his motorcycle.
