[Diagnostic / Planning]  #15- guided implant placement- follow -up


 Finally got help for downloading this image .

Enclosed is plan for guided surgery. Note that  actual placement of implant does not quite match the plan .

Hmm...

that makes the decision more difficult. 

I might recommend to exo n redo the implant. 

Take the more sure road.

Hi Mark : Thanks for reply .

      There is no inflammation around the implant site.    I wonder how long this can stay so .  The prosthetic plan is to place implant retained bridge ; 15-17 .

Hi  Madeson,

It is not uncommon that even with guide, sometimes implants tend to "buccal drift".

This is due to the guide drills being "end cutting" rather than "side cutting".

This is the reason why we like to start osteotomy slightly more palatal at the beginning to over-compensate for the buccal drift.

My suggestion is if the fixture is solid and the placement is within the 'graft envelop' , you can flap and dithered using i-brushes to decontaminate the area and PRF+allograft  the area and place collagen membrane over and close up and let the area heal.  

or if have any doubt ,  remove graft and start over of course. 

How does the buccal tissue look ?  inflamed ? Infected?
