[Others]  Crazy Glues

Hi Bernard,

Good morning.

You told me last time you use Biologic Crazy Glues. Do you use it to hold tissue together? or is it mainly the suture that does the job? What situation do you use the Glues?

I also like to know how do you smooth the sharp edges ? Thank you.

Albert

Hi Albert Good to hear from you. The Biologic Crazy Glues you are referring to are pharmaceutical grade cyanoacrylate adhesives. I use it to hold knots on my sutures, as well as tack on free gingival grafts at the graft site. I also use it as a hemostatic adjunct (rough surface) in my harvest site sometimes. If you are having sharp edges on your adhesive - i think it's probably the way you are administering it on the site. Sounds like you could be placing it and then dragging the adhesive outwardly slowly. try dabbing it really quickly to 'weld' the tissues. hope that helps.
